Evans adds duties at NBC

Veteran NBC executive Bruce Evans has been promoted to senior vp current series at NBC. He will continue to handle many of NBC's current series and will take on new responsibilities as head of daytime programming, which is now included under current series. He will report to executive vp current series Erin Gough Wehrenberg. Evans also will be a liaison for NBC executive vp diversity Paula Madison in the network's efforts to increase diversity on all shows.



Magnolia puts 'Mike' in its Easter basket

NEW YORK — Magnolia Pictures has picked up U.S. rights to the Slamdance Film Festival comedy "Hank and Mike" featuring Chris Klein and Joe Mantegna. Screenwriters Thomas Michael and Paolo Mancini star as the title characters, a pair of foul-mouthed Easter Bunnies who are laid off by a conglomerate run by Mr. Pan (Mantegna) on the recommendation of an efficiency expert (Klein). Matthiew Klinck directed the feature based on his 2000 short film.
