Nick Offerman, Maude Apatow Cast in 'The House of Tomorrow' Adaptation
Asa Butterfield and Alex Wolff will also star in the directorial debut of Peter Livolsi.
Nick Offerman will star in the feature film adaptation of the The House of Tomorrow, alongside Ellen Burstyn.
Offerman and Burstyn will be joined by a cast of young and rising stars, including Asa Butterfield (Hugo), Alex Wolff (Patriot’s Day), Maude Apatow (This Is 40) and Michaela Watkins (Hulu's Casual).
House of Tomorrow, based on the novel of the same name by Peter Bognanni, tells the story of inventor-architect R. Buckminster Fuller through the perspective of two teens who are trying to make their way through high school.
Peter Livolsi, a participant in the 2016 Sundance Screenwriters Lab, will make his directorial debut on the project, which he also wrote. Filming is currently underway in Minnesota.
“Peter Bognanni’s book is full of great characters, not the least of which is Buckminster Fuller, a man whose ideas are so spectacular they seem like fiction," said Livolsi. "He did things his own way just like the punk heroes the boys in our story aspire to become.”
Tarik Karam (Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close) will produce the project alongside Superlative Films’ Danielle Renfrew Behrens, as well as Water’s End Productions. Offerman and Burstyn are also acting as executive producers on the project, along with Tom Dolby.
