Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass' video breaks VOD records (Video)
In just one week, the rapper earns over 1 million Music Choice views.
Fans cannot get enough of Nicki Minaj’s latest music video, “Super Bass.”
The colorful video, featuring a pink pool, ice sculptures and several shirtless men, has been heating up the Music Choice channel cable. According to Rentrak, “Super Bass” was played a record 1,436,807 times in just one week on the cable Video On Demand service.
This isn’t the first record-breaking video Minaj has snagged on Music Choice. The first lady of Young Money holds three of the top five one-week viewing records for the channel, including “Right Thru Me” and “Your Love.” Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop” round out the list.
Minaj can currently be seen on the Femme Fatale tour with Britney Spears, promoting her debut album “Pink Friday.” In May, the album broke a Billboard record for most consecutive weeks spent in the Top 10 by a female rap album on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Interestingly enough, "Super Bass" was not included on the original full length version of "Pink Friday." The track appears on the deluxe edition, making it a surprise hit. Watch the video below.
