Nicole Kidman Sells Richard Meier Condo for $16 Million
The Australian actress has sold her 176 Perry Street residence after owning it for nine years.
Actress Nicole Kidman has sold a Manhattan apartment located on Perry Street after owning it for nine years. The unit was previously on the rental market for $45,000 a month before being purchased on July 10 for $16 million by an unknown buyer, according to The Real Deal. The 3,785-square-foot apartment is located on the 12th floor complete with three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and a view of the New York Harbor. The Richard Meier building is popular among celebrities such as designer Calvin Klein and fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman. Jim Carrey is also said to have scoped the building last year but did not end up buying.
The apartment was originally purchased by the Moulin Rouge star in 2003 but shortly after she was upset by construction of a neighboring building on Charles Street which blocked her view of the Hudson River, according to reports. This prompted her and husband Keith Urban to buy a $10 million penthouse in West Chelsea last year, located on 200 Eleventh Avenue. The building claims that it is the first and only to have sky garages which allow residents to travel by car elevator directly to their own private garage adjoining their apartment.

The actress purchased a neighboring unit for $7 million to add to the apartment she already owns, expanding it to almost twice its previous size. Kidman also recently purchased a $2.68 million home office in the same building.
Kidman, who has received an Emmy nomination for her role in HBO movie Hemingway & Gellhorn, was recently seen in London where she watched the Olympics opening ceremony and attended an Omega party with her husband.
