Nicole Purcell Named President of CLIO
CLIO is behind the annual CLIO Awards event along with THR's Key Art Awards.
Marketing executive Nicole Purcell has been named president of CLIO, the brand behind the annual CLIO Awards and The Hollywood Reporter's Key Art Awards, it was announced on Tuesday.
"Early on in my CLIO career, I had a vision for what this brand could be — creative, innovative, inspirational — a true mirror of the creatives we applaud," said Purcell in a statement.
"Moving into this new chapter with a renewed energy, my top priority is continuing to build our great brand presence. The creative work we represent is in many ways the core of pop culture, and it's important for CLIO to be a part of that conversation," she continued.
CLIO is a division of Mediabistro Holdings, which is owned by Prometheus Global Media, the parent company of Billboard, Adweek and THR.
"The last year marked a big step in the evolution of CLIO, with new extensions and an increased international presence," said Mediabistro Holdings president Jeffrey Wilbur. "The growth and results are directly related to Nicole's passion for this brand and industry. We know 2015 is going to be a landmark year with Nicole at the helm."
The 55th annual CLIO Awards were held on Oct. 1 of last year, and included Pharrell Williams and Jerry Seinfeld as honorees.
