Actress Nikki Reed had more than 100 carats of diamonds on the wedding dress she wore to tie the knot with former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald this weekend.
Bridal jewelry maker Tacori described the body-hugging dress as "extremely simple" and said it featured 100 diamond buttons. The company's Michelle Adorjan told US Weekly, "Instead of a traditional, silk wrap button, we did diamond buttons. A little over 100 carats just on the buttons. But it's simple and beautiful."
Reed's dress also had a six-foot train and a "'40s classic glamour silhouette," notes Adorjan.
Reed, 23, and McDonald, 27, exchanged "I do's" in front of 100 guests at a private ranch in Malibu. They became engaged in June after dating for two months. They met at the March premiere of Red Riding Hood, which was directed by Twilight helmer Catherine Hardwicke.
In the Twilight movies, Reed plays Rosealie Hale, a member of the Cullen clan and adopted sister of Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen. She also co-wrote the 2003 drama Thirteen, which was also helmed by Hardwicke.
McDonald was a finalist on the most recent season of American Idol. He wrapped the American Idols Live Tour last month.
