The Flemish-Beligan coming-of-age-story will have its U.S. premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Strand Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to Bavo Defurne’s North Sea Texas from Wavelength Pictures.
The Flemish-Belgian production, which will have its U.S. premiere at the upcoming Palm Springs International Film Festival, is an adaptation of Andre Sollie’s novel This Is Everlasting and tells the coming-of-age story of a teenage boy who falls in love with the boy next door.
“We’re thrilled to add Bavo’s film to our library, he’s a great stylist and this is really an impressive feature debut. We acquired his short films for a DVD package several years ago and is a filmmaker that we’ve been tracking for quite a while,” Strand Releasing co-president Marcus Hu said.
Strand is planning a late summer release.
