November reign continues: 8 straight for CBS
EmptyCBS on Monday declared an early November sweep victory among total viewers, though the race for the adult demo remains too close to call.
For the eighth consecutive November, CBS is projected to be the most-watched network during the sweep, when data is gathered to set local ad rates.
CBS has averaged 11.8 million viewers this month, followed by ABC (10.5 million), NBC (7.8 million), Fox (7 million) and the CW (2.2 million).
Despite overall broadcast industry doldrums, CBS clocked 14 shows hitting season- or series-high ratings in viewers or the adult demo.
With three nights remaining, the race for adults 18-49 remains a dead heat. CBS and ABC average a 3.1 rating each, with the victor likely hinging on the performance of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" finale. They are followed by NBC (2.9), Fox (2.7) and the CW (1.0).
MyNetworkTV also is continuing its growth, averaging 1.7 million and a 0.6 rating in November, both up more than 35% from last year. (partialdiff)
