Nearly 20 years ago, Todd Marinovich left the NFL, amidst widely-publicized reports of drug addiction.
On Dec. 10, ESPN aired a documentary about the former Oakland Raiders quarterback, who had mostly disappeared from the public stage after his NFL departure.
"For six months we tried to track him down and were greeted with radio silence," The Marinovich Project director's John Dorsey and Andrew Stephan said jointly in a statement.
But, Marinovich, who has become an artist since leaving the sports world, did eventually return their calls, and the documentary was filmed. During the piece, some of his art pieces were featured, and now, Marinovich says business is booming.
"Orders are pouring in for the prints," he told TMZ.
His most prominently featured piece, titled "The Alchemist," and based on himself, is now, "the most sought after print," Todd said, adding, "I'm only making 100 of them and I'm almost sold out."
