Olympics 2012: Jessie J, Annie Lennox and Tinie Tempah Rumored as Closing Ceremony Lineup Additions
The British media on Friday also featured pictures of the Spice Girls and the Pet Shop Boys going to and from rehearsals for the big gig.
LONDON – Popstar and The Voice U.K. judge Jessie J, pop emperess Annie Lennox and British rap artist Tinie Tempah are among the latest acts rumored to sing for their tickets at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Games.
The trio would take a turn during Sunday's closing ceremony under the watchful eye of the shindig's music director David Arnold.
The media and social networks have been abuzz with speculation and fresh names are popping up to join the ultimate British playlist.
British tabloid The Sun, owned by News International, dispatched a snapper to take pictures of artists arriving and departing the event's rehearsal space in a former car manufacturing plant in Dagenham to the east of London.
Other musos snapped coming and going at the rehearsal space include Brian May of Queen, the Pet Shop Boys and George Michael as well as the re-formed Spice Girls.
No sign of the famously reclusive Kate Bush yet, although a 2012 remix of her classic song Running Up the Hill was listed for release on Amazon on Aug. 12, the night the closing ceremony begins.
The link has since been removed but fans are hoping that's because of organizers' wishes to keep the content and playlist under wraps until the big show.
Muse, George Michael, The Who and Simon Cowell progeny One Direction are expected rather than tipped now.
Arnold told The Daily Telegraph newspaper he thinks the closing ceremony "should be the greatest afterparty in the world."
The closing gig has a big act to follow after Danny Boyle's opening ceremony extravaganza that saw performances from Paul McCartney, Mike Oldfield, Underworld, Dizzee Rascal and Emeli Sande among others.
