London 2012: Olympian Hope Solo Feuding with NBC's Brandi Chastain
The U.S. soccer star criticized the former player for her comments about the team's defense.
Hope Solo and the U.S. women’s soccer team have played just two games in the Olympics, but there’s already plenty of drama going on behind the scenes.
Solo, the outspoken goaltender who competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2011, took to Twitter to slam former player and NBC’s current announcer Brandi Chastain for her comments criticizing the U.S. team’s defense.

"Its 2 bad we cant have commentators who better represents the team&knows more about the game,” Solo tweeted on July 28.
Solo went on to tell Chastain to “Lay off commentating about defending and [goalkeeping] until you get more educated.”
“The game has changed from a decade ago,” she added.
Solo’s string of comments against Chastain were sparked by Chastain criticism of U.S. defender Rachel Buehler during the team’s game against Colombia, which they won 3-0.
"Defend. Win the ball. And then keep possession. And that's something that Rachel Buehler actually needs to, I think, improve on in this tournament,” Chastain had said during the telecast.
REVIEW: Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics:
Chastain was one of the stars of U.S. soccer from 1988-2004, known for infamously taking off her jersey to celebrate the decisive penalty kick in 1999’s World Cup final against China.
Solo has developed a reputation for her outspoken comments over the years. After criticizing coach Greg Ryan during the 2007 World Cup, she was sent home from China separately from the team.
Solo won the golden glove award for top goalie at last year's World Cup in Germany.
The U.S. women’s team will next face North Korea Tuesday in Manchester.
