One for ages: Uni, Aniston on 'Counter'

Universal Pictures has picked up "Counter Clockwise," a dramedy written by Paul Bernbaum for Jennifer Aniston to produce with an eye to star (HR 10/18). Grant Scharbo and Gina Matthews of Roundtable Entertainment also are producing, along with Aniston's partner, Kristin Hahn.

The story centers on noted Harvard psychologist Ellen Langer, who is known for her work in the illusion of control, decision-making and aging theories. The script focuses on a real study Langer conducted in which she reversed the aging process of her subjects by making them believe they were younger. She wrote about her findings in "Mindfulness."

Aniston's new shingle, which has no name or studio affiliation at this point, is in development on several projects, some of which came with Aniston when she left Plan B.
