The second edition of the awards show will take place at The Genting Arena in Birmingham on Dec. 10. Further acts will be unveiled over the coming weeks. Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton will host the event.
The BBC Music Awards will feature five honors. They are the awards for the British artist of the year, international artist of the year, song of the year and a special award for a new artist. Added this year will be a new award for live performance of the year.
During the week before the awards, the BBC Music team will be running outreach events across the city, "encouraging and inspiring new or aspiring artists in conjunction with local partners and venues," the U.K. public broadcaster said.
The BBC Music Awards will air on BBC One in primetime on the same day they take place. The 2014 edition of the awards show took place in front of a crowd of 13,500 people at London’s Earls Court, drawing an average TV audience of 4.17 million on BBC One.
