Tom Cruise's 'One Shot:' Rosamund Pike to Play Leading Lady

Rosamund Pike will play Tom Cruise's leading lady in One Shot, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

She beat out Hayley Atwell (who starred opposite Chris Evans in Captain America) and Clash of the Titans actress Alexa Davalos.

Pike, who drew acclaim for her role in Barney’s Version, screen-tested on Saturday with director Christopher McQuarrie.

The studio was seeking a pedigreed yet non-A-list actress for the role.

One Shot is a Paramount-Skydance adaptation of a 2005 Lee Child crime thriller.

It will likely shoot in Pittsburgh this fall.
