Oprah to Air Interview With David Arquette Instead of Michael Vick (Exclusive)

Winfrey tells THR her staff had been "working for months" on the Vick interview, and already pre-taped segments with him.
Oprah Winfrey will air an exclusive interview with David Arquette instead of Michael Vick on Feb. 24.
"I can now confirm that next Thursday's episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show will now feature an exclusive sitdown with David Arquette in his first interview post-rehab," her rep, Don Halcombe, tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Winfrey told THR Thursday that she found out Vick had canceled via an email from her executive producer, Sheri Salata.
"He said personal reasons. We're not going to push it," Winfrey said, adding that her staff "had been working behind the scenes for months" on the interview.
"We did a field trip with him. We had been shooting with Michael Vick. And the fact that he pulled out and all his people…" Winfrey said. "We move on."
The interview with Arquette was taped Thursday in Chicago.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, who missed two seasons of football while he served 18 months in prison on dogfighting charges, said in a statement: "After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22. I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future." (It was slated to air on the 24th.)
Winfrey and Piers Morgan had made a $300 bet about who would land the first major interview with Vick. Oprah pulled out of the bet, and then it became known that Vick couldn't appear to endorse betting per conditions of his release from jail.
