Original Web series makes History

History plans to launch "Great and Telling Tales With Timothy Dickinson," the network's first original series for the Web.

The 12-webisode History.com exclusive will feature historian Timothy Dickinson, known for his love of strange or unexpected stories. For example, episodes of the series are titled "Great Moon Hoax" and "Jimmy Carter vs. the Killer Rabbit."

Besides Dickinson's commentary, episodes of "Tales" will incorporate animation aimed at bringing the bizarre tales to life, History said.

"The addition of this original broadband series not only illustrates our mission to expand the History brand across all multimedia platforms but emphasizes that at the heart of history is great storytelling," said Nancy Dubuc, History's executive vp and GM.
