Orly Adelson Exiting as ITV Studios President
Marking the second major departure from the company following Paul Buccieri.
ITV Studios America is losing its president.
Orly Adelson will exit the post after a year and a half on the job. The news comes as ITV Studios America has been making an aggressive push to expand its U.S. production footprint, for which Adelson had been key, and its parent company continues scooping up independent companies including Talpa and Leftfield Entertainment, among others. (ITV called off plans to purchase The Weinstein Co.'s TV division earlier this year.)
In her short tenure at the company, Adelson launched ITV's scripted division and upped sales 35 percent to network and cable channels. She set up an 53 shows during that time, including NBC's upcoming Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris, which is based on ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway. Adelson's departure marks the second major loss in 10 months at ITV Studios, following Paul Buccieri's exit for a senior role at A+E Networks late last year.
The industry vet, who had joined ITV in January 2014 after serving as president of Dick Clark Productions, will segue to producing live and reality television with a renewed focus on scripted.
