In the days before the 2008 Oscars, organizers of celebrity gifting suites geared up for one last hurrah, even as some promoters asked whether it is all worth it.

When the writers strike cast a shadow over the usually swag-laden Golden Globes, awards season free stuff looked like it was going the way of the silent picture.

But once the writers strike ended Feb. 13, allowing the Oscar show to go on with all its usual sparkle, brand ambassadors got busy catching up on efforts to get their wares seen on the red carpet.

THR talked with reps from Sonya Dakar, H. Stern and Stuart Weitzman about the Oscar 2008 swag business in this exclusive video report.
