Oscars 2015: Men Have the Blues
Stars including Eddie Redmayne, Justin Theroux and Ansel Elgort opted for midnight shades.
When Neil Patrick Harris introduced presenter Jared Leto to the Academy Awards stage, he welcomed the man "with the bluest tux and whitest shoes." Leto’s custom Givenchy tuxedo falls somewhere between powder blue and light lavender, but several other leading men were true blue in their suiting choices.
Best actor nominee Eddie Redmayne looked the movie star he truly is in a navy Alexander McQueen tuxedo with black lapels that seemed perfectly coordinated with the navy feather peplum on his new wife Hannah Bageshawe's stunning black gown. Presenter Ansel Elgort was almost twinning with him in his own Prada midnight-blue tuxedo, also with a contrasting black collar.
Finally, Justin Theroux, on the arm of a glowing Jennifer Aniston, wore a deep blue peak-lapel Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo that provided the perfect subtle pop of color in an otherwise very classic sea of black.
