Ellen DeGeneres Gives Jimmy Kimmel an Oscar: 'I Got You a Baby Gift!' (Video)
Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen DeGeneres got together twice on Wednesday, and for their second chat they invited Oscar along to celebrate.
Earlier in the day Kimmel had been a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he revealed that he and wife, Molly McNearney, are expecting their first baby together, so when the Oscar host came on Jimmy Kimmel Live! a few hours later -- she brought a very special present.
"You announced on the show that you and Molly are having a baby, congratulations again," said DeGeneres, before pulling out her glittering gift.
"I got you a baby gift. Will it be your first?" she asked, as she handed him an Oscar statuette.
"It is a heavy baby gift," gushed Kimmel, while checking to see if it was genuine.
"It is real! They let me take a real -- well they didn't let me -- but I took it. I was rehearsing across the street. It is like a baby rattle so the child can play with it," joked Degeneres, who will be the host of Sunday's Academy Awards.
"I wish the baby had a speech prepared right now that it could make," said the grateful father-to-be. "I can’t believe how heavy this thing is. The baby is not going to like this at all! We are going to have to have one of those super babies."
Proud of her unique present, DeGeneres made a funny referral to Jimmy's ongoing feud with a certain Hollywood star, challenging: "Top that, Matt Damon!"
Once the gift-giving was out of the way, the pair got down to the serious business of hosting the biggest night in Hollywood, as Ellen revealed: "I am very busy, I didn't think this through when I said I would host the Oscars. I have a show everyday, and I am writing like crazy.
"And I am moving at the same time, which was not thought through either. We are moving right after the Oscars," she revealed, which sojourned smoothly into addressing tabloid rumors that her marriage with Portia de Rossi is on the rocks.
"So you and Portia are not moving into separate houses like I have seen in some of these magazines?" asked Kimmel.
Ellen responded with her usual witty irony, replying: "I read that we were getting divorced, and I went and told her [Portia] and she was sad. I couldn't believe we were getting divorced, but I guess we are. They said it."
After fumbling over her words slightly, she went on to confirm, "We are very happy and that’s the truth, and we are not getting divorced."
