Jason Wu's First Oscars Dress Ever Shows Up on Kerry Washington

Jason Wu -- who is already widely recognized as a star within the fashion world -- made his big Oscars debut on Sunday, thanks to Kerry Washington.

The Scandal actress arrived at Sunday's red carpet showing off her baby bump in a strapless, silky violet gown designed by New York-based designer Wu.

"Kerry and I have been friends and great collaborators since the beginning of my career. It was an honor to create a custom dress for her to wear to the Academy Awards," Wu told Pret-a-Reporter via email.

While this is the designer's first Oscars dress, he's no stranger to Hollywood, having dressed boldface names including Diane KrugerReese Witherspoon and first lady Michelle Obama.

To celebrate his achievement, Wu posted an Instagram of the mommy-to-be and wrote, "My first #Oscars dress!!! Thank you Kerry!!!"
