Oscars: Hollywood Reacts After Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway Read Wrong Best Picture Winner

"And the award for best Steve Harvey impersonation goes to Warren Beatty."

Bonnie and Clyde duo Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway accidentally read the wrong best picture winner at the Oscars on Sunday night, awarding La La Land over Moonlight, the correct winner.

The actors announced that the Damien Chazelle film had won the honor, with the cast and crew taking the stage for their acceptance speeches before the mistake was realized.

Beatty and host Jimmy Kimmel explained the error, telling everyone they had been given the wrong envelope.

"I opened the envelope and it said 'Emma Stone, La La Land.' That's why I looked at Faye, and at you. I wasn't trying to be funny." Beatty told the audience everyone.

The duo was there to present the best picture award in celebration of the 50th anniversary of their classic film, Bonnie and Clyde.

"Warren, what did you do?!" joked Kimmel.

Moonlight director Barry Jenkins later tweeted at La La Land Jordan Horowitz, who cleared up the misunderstanding onstage, "Wow. I'm slipping slowly into reflection, perspective. Much respect to that dude."

Oprah Winfrey, Billy Crystal, Katy Perry and more stars shared similar reactions of shock on Twitter. See them below.
