O'Sullivan to take Ausfilm from Pitcher
'Proposition' producer takes over in AugustSYDNEY -- Producer Jackie O'Sullivan will take the reins at Ausfilm, Australia's locations marketing agency, as CEO in August, Ausfilm chair Martin Cayzer said Wednesday.
O'Sullivan will take over from Caroline Pitcher, who has elected not to extend her contract, which expires on Aug. 21.
Currently working in the U.K. with production and financing outfit CinemaNX, O'Sullivan is also a former head of business affairs at the U.K. Film Council, and has worked down under producing a number of key Australian film and TV projects including Guy Pearce starrer "The Proposition" and as general manager/executive producer for Columbia Tri-Star Prods. (Sony) Australia.
"Jackie will bring a truly international view to the organization as well as a vast range of production experience when dealing with our key clients who are all based outside Australia," Cayzer said. "I believe she will be a great asset not only to our organization but to the industry as a whole.
Ausfilm, the membership of which includes a raft of private sector film-related businesses as well as state and federal agencies, markets Australia as a key filming, postproduction and co-production destination and has offices in Sydney and Los Angeles.
Pitcher, a former head of the Melbourne Film office, will remain working in the industry here.
