Oxygen Development VP David Gross Joins CAA as TV Agent (Exclusive)
Oxygen Media development vp David Gross has joined CAA as a TV agent, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Gross, who is based in Los Angeles, will continue to work in the unscripted space, a specialty he cultivated in his development career. He joined Oxygen in 2011, where he helped increase the cable network's original programming by 50 percent the following year, developing shows such as My Shopping Addiction, Tanisha Gets Married, Find Me My Man and My Big Fat Revenge.
Gross went to Oxygen from his post as senior vp development at Tijuana Entertainment, where he oversaw reality projects for networks including The CW, A&E and Animal Planet. Before that, he served as vp reality programming at Lifetime, supervising the development and production of shows such as DietTribe and On the Road With Austin & Santino. He previously led development on buzzy MTV series A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila, Parental Control, Next and From G's to Gents as director of series development and original programming for the network.
Gross' move to the agent side brings him full circle, as the Boston University graduate started his career at William Morris Agency's New York office.
Gross was an active participant of NBCUniversal's various diversity initiatives -- he was a member of the Unidos Latino Affinity Group, the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Internal Diversity Council and the NBCU Entertainment Associates Program, which helped cultivate diversity in company leadership.
