'Oz' Actress Abigail Spencer to Star in 'Beautiful Now' (Exclusive)
The drama is being produced by Keith Kjarval and his Unified Pictures Banner.
Abigail Spencer, the actress and writer who appears in next week’s Oz the Great and Powerful, will star in Beautiful Now, an indie drama being produced by Keith Kjarval and his Unified Pictures banner.
Written by Daniela Amavia, who will also direct, Beautiful Now tells the story of a passionate dancer who finds herself mulling an extreme act when she reaches a crossroads in her life. As she hangs on the razor's edge, crossing between reality and fantasy, her fractured group of friends reunite and embark on a shared journey into intense memories of their past, helping the woman answer the question: "If your life flashed before your eyes, would you like what you see?"
FILM REVIEW: 'Oz the Great and Powerful'
Unified has completed five films in the past 14 months alone, among them The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, which starred Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks and recently recently opened the Sundance Film Festival. It also produced A Single Shot, which stars Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy and Jeffrey Wright, and screened at the Berlin Film Festival.
Spencer, perhaps best known for her work on AMC’s Mad Men, recently wrapped the indie drama One Heart with Matthew Lillard and Marc Blucas. She will star in Wrong Number, for which she also penned the script; the drama will be produced by her Oz co-star James Franco.
The actress will next be seen starring in Rectify, Sundance Channel's first scripted series from the team behind Breaking Bad.
She is repped by ICM Partners, Untitled and Hansen Jacobson.
