Pacific Northwest Takes Canadian Rights to Roger Michell's 'Le Week-End'

The Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan-starring romantic comedy bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival.

TORONTO -- Pacific Northwest Pictures has snapped up the Canadian rights to Roger Michell's comedy drama Le Week-end from screenwriter Hanif Kureishi.

The Canadian distributor will release the Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan-starrer theatrically day-and-date with the U.S. release in the first quarter of 2014 by Music Box Films.

EARLIER: Zanne Devine Launches Pacific Northwest 

Jeff Goldblum also stars in the film that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival and sees Broadbent and Duncan playing a long-married couple returning to the scene of their honeymoon.

Le Week-End earned Broadbent the best actor prize when it played at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

The film was produced by Film4 and Free Range Films, in association with Le Bureau, with Embankment Films handling world sales.
