Lisa Edelstein and Brenda Song have signed on to star in "Special Delivery," a telefilm that will air on Lifetime Movie Network, likely in December.
"Delivery" is described as a fast-paced movie with comedic elements, in the vein of "Midnight Run." Edelstein (Fox's "House") will play Maxine Carter, a bonded courier working in the Pacific Rim. Her next case finds her transporting not evidence or life-saving organs but bratty teen Alice (Song of Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody") from her father in China to her mother in the U.S. When Max realizes there's a trap set up for her and Alice when they reach the States, it's up to her to keep Alice safe.
Michael Scott is set to direct from a script by Matt Dearborn. MarVista Entertainment is producing the movie, with Michael Jacobs serving as executive producer and Marc Lorber producing.
Edelstein, known for her role as Dr. Lisa Cuddy on "House," also has appeared on "Felicity," "Ally McBeal" and "The West Wing." She is repped by IFA Talent Agency and manager Cynthia Campos-Greenberg of Anthem Entertainment.
Song, who plays London Tipton on "Suite Life," also voiced a role in Disney Channel's "Phil of the Future." She is repped by ICM and manager Richard Konigsberg.
Dearborn's credits include "Beverly Hills, 90210." He also created the live-action Disney Channel series "Even Stevens," starring Shia LaBeouf. He is repped by John Bauman of John Bauman Management.
Scott, who has directed movies including Lifetime's "Murder on Pleasant Drive," is repped by Preferred Artists.
