Pamela Anderson Stalker Arrested in London
The actress was traveling to London by train when police apprehended a man and stopped him from entering her carriage.
LONDON -- Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has been left “terrified” after British police arrested a man thought to be a stalker as he attempted to board her train on Monday evening.
The actress, who had finished her run as the Genie in the Christmas pantomime Aladdin in Liverpool, was journeying back to London on the train when police apprehended a 21-year-old man and stopped him from entering her carriage at the city’s Lime Street railway station.
According to the London Daily Mail, the man turned violent and the police had to use a chemical spray to restrain him after he attempted to bite one of them.
The paper had pictures of six officers leading the man away, with three appearing to carry the un-named attacker -- who is thought to have seen Anderson’s performance 10 times.
In a statement Tuesday, London Transport Police confirmed the attack.
“A 21-year-old man was arrested at 9 p.m. last night at the station after an altercation took place in which a police officer was assaulted. The man became verbally abusive to rail staff and he was asked to produce a ticket.”
The statement went on to say that officers had taken steps to restrain the man.
“British Transport Police attended and the man became violent and assaulted an officer and was arrested. Officers were forced to use capture spray as the man resisted arrest.”
Anderson, described by onlookers as “terrified” at the violent scuffle, returned to London and is now understood to be traveling back to the U.S.
