Pantone Presents Its 2015 Color of the Year
With the boozy hue Marsala announced as the winner, here are 10 pieces to get ahead of the trend
"Hardy, robust, satisfying, fulfilling. At the same time there's a certain glamour that's attached to this color." An oddly familiar phrase akin to a label from your favorite vino? Yep, and it's quite apropos, considering Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, has announced to the Associated Press that Marsala wins top billing on the trend-forecast color wheel of 2015.
Unlike past champs Radiant Orchid and Tangerine Tango, this savory stain is much easier to swallow and really isn't all that groundbreaking. In fact, you probably already own at least a couple of key pieces: Oxblood hit the zeitgeist (only a trained eye could spot the difference here) a few runways back and NARS' "Cruella" lips puckered up worldwide last year. Another bonus? Less trips to the dry cleaner after happy-hour party fouls involving Cabernet. We'll cheers to that.
In case you still need an infusion of the bold-yet-not-overbearing hue, sample our tasting right here.
