The store, which launched less than three years ago, had 7 million apps downloaded last year alone.
Paper Glider, a paper plane flying game from U.K. mobile app developer Neon Play, has become the 10 billionth download from Apple’s App Store.
Launched 2 ½ years ago, the App Store had 7 billion apps downloaded in the past year alone.
U.K. resident Gail Davis won the App Store Countdown to 10 Billion Apps with the download of Paper Glider, and she received a $10,000 iTunes gift card, the consumer electronics giant said.
Oli Christie, managing director of Neon Play, said: “Paper Glider is currently the number one app in the U.K., so this is a double piece of great news for our studio."
Apple’s App Store offers more than 350,000 apps including more than 60,000 native iPad apps.
