Paramount Bringing All Three 'Paranormal Activity' Films to Theaters
The studio is screening the three microbudget horror movies together for one night only.
On the heels of Paranormal Activity 3's box office success, Paramount is teaming up with select Regal theaters across the U.S. to screen all three films in the horror franchise in chronological order.
For the price of one movie ticket, moviegoers will be able to see Paranormal Activity 3, Paranormal Actiivity and Paranormal Activity 2 on the big screen back to back on Friday at 11 theaters, including ones in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago.
In its opening weekend, Paranormal Activity 3 earned $54 million in the domestic box office, the top launch for a horror film and the best October opening ever. Notably, the third installment in the took in $10 million more than last year's Paranormal Activity 2, the previous crownholder for top horror opening. Overseas, the threequel opened to $26 million for a worldwide total of $80 million -- 16 times the film's $5-million production budget.
