PARIS -- The French public proved to be big fans of the small screen recently as 60,000 visitors attended Paris' first TV trade fair, the Salon de la Tele, which wrapped Sunday night.

The event, held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, attracted 140 TV stars and professionals and more than 70% of visitors were "very satisfied" with the experience, according to organizers.

The four-day event offered visitors an opportunity to meet national television professionals including talk show hosts, journalists and actors and take part in debates and forum discussions, learn about the various television trades and discover new technology.

The public also was able to enjoy preview screenings of upcoming shows including French miniseries "Mystere" on TF1 and such U.S. series as "Jericho" on M6 and CBS' "Shark" in addition to trailers for new summer programming.

More than 1,000 people were able to try their hand at presenting the weather in front of a green screen brought in for the occasion or announce the country's next president against the backdrop of a mock political show on France 2.
