According to the Associated Press, the actor says he’s excited to help the company's 500-plus employees and give back to the city where his fictional doctor works and resides. He also tweeted his excitement:

Tully's has nearly 50 shops in California and Washington, and a number of franchised and licensed locations across the U.S. and overseas.
Any sale of the troubled coffee chain has to receive judicial approval. A bankruptcy hearing is set for early January in Seattle.
Grey's Anatomy is currently in the middle of its ninth season.
