'Patrik' tops Provincetown fest

Ella Lemhagen's "Patrik, Age 1.5" and Megumi Sasaki's "Herb & Dorothy" earned the HBO Audience Awards for best narrative feature and best documentary, respectively, at the 11th annual Provincetown International Film Festival, which concluded Sunday in Provincetown, Mass.

Casey Clark's "Kink, Inc." was named best short film.

On Saturday evening, festival executive director Gabby Hanna, artistic director Connie White and director of programming Andrew Peterson awarded the 2009 Filmmaker on the Edge Award to writer-director Guy Maddin. Actor Alessandro Nivola received the Excellence in Acting Award, and Strand Releasing was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
