'Blackadder' Actress Patsy Byrne Dies at 80
She appeared in the second series of the Rowan Atkinson historical comedy.
Patsy Byrne, best known for her work in BBC One's Blackadder, died Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. She was 80.
The actress played the kindly nursemaid to Queen Elizabeth I in the second series of the historical comedy, which starred Rowan Atkinson.
Her other credits included Holby City and I, Claudius. She was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and studied drama at Rose Buford College in Kent.
She died at Denville Hall, a retirement home catering to actors.
