As part of the two-year pact, the New York-based company will develop series projects exclusively for cable.

FX Productions has inked a first-look production deal with SidewaysPaul Giamatti, Dan Carey and their production company, Touchy Feely Films.

As part of the two-year pact, the New York-based shingle will develop series projects exclusively for cable. It makes the first TV output deal for Touchy Feely.

“We’re thrilled Paul and Dan chose FX Productions to set up shop and we look forward to being in business with them. Their ideas and sensibilities fall squarely in line with the type of projects we’re looking to produce. They are a terrific addition to our growing roster of producers under the FXP banner," said FX Productions evp Eric Schrier.

Added Giamatti: “I am incredibly pleased and honored to have this opportunity to work with all the fine folks at FX. They are simply great at what they do, and we eagerly anticipate putting together some great shows with them.” Carey echoed that sentiment, noting that "FX has put a string of great shows on television over the past few years, and we’re thrilled to have a chance to add to that body of work.”

Recent Touchy Feely projects include Cold Souls, Pretty Bird and Don Coscarelli’s new film John Dies at the End. The seven-year-old company is currently in post-production on a Phil Morrison film, which stars Giamatti, Paul Rudd and Sally Hawkins.

The move marks a continued expansion for FXP, which has produced 11 comedy series and co-produced eight drama series since its launch in 2005. It has output deals in place with the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's executive producers' RCG and Archer EPs' Floyd County Productions. In August, FXP inked a first-look production deal with The Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and their five-year-old production company, Color Force, exclusively for cable.

The deal was brokered by UTA
