Rudd went on The Late Show on Thursday to talk about Our Idiot Brother, which opens on Friday.

He ended up telling David Letterman about a time when his car broke down on the way to the airport.He was on the Van Wyck Expressway and decided to hitchhike.

"I would love it if I could offer her something really cool and interesting like a walk-on part to a movie I was working on. But I realize I don't have that kind of juice,” he told Letterman.

Instead he offered her a walk-on role – on the Late Show. Allie Brown then walks out and does a couple awkward waves.

“I probably should have gotten her like a gift certificate or something."
