Paul Schur Promoted to VP Communications at Discovery Channel
Schur previously worked as senior director of publicity for network series including "Gold Rush" and "Moonshiners."
Discovery Channel has promoted Paul Schur to vp communications.
Schur previously held the title of senior director of publicity and designed strategies to boost awareness for network programming, including Gold Rush, Moonshiners, Jungle Gold and SharkWeek. In his new role, Schur will oversee communication operations and continue reporting to Laurie Goldberg, executive vp at Discovery Channel, DFH and TLC.
With more than 10 years of experience with media entertainment and public relations under his belt, Schur has worked at Fox News as a spokesperson and director of media relations, where he managed press for the broadcast network’s morning program FOX News Sunday.
Before heading to Fox, he got his start at CNN with CNN Interactive where he first worked as a spokesperson for the network’s online site and oversaw publicity for online coverage. In his tenure at CNN, Schur also managed press for talent, such as CNN and HLN news anchors and correspondents.
