Pay TV promotion for Brogi at Fox
EmptyInternational pay TV executive Gina Brogi has been upped to senior vp worldwide pay TV at Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.
The promotion coincides with a period of transition for the worldwide pay TV business as it shifts to a digital environment. Brogi will be responsible for the distribution of the studio's film and TV product to existing clients as well as to a growing number of new and emerging clients worldwide. She also will be instrumental in developing subscription pay TV business models.
Her appointment was announced Monday by Marion Edwards, president of international television, who paid tribute to "Gina's many and valuable contributions to our pay TV business with this promotion. She is consistently creative and original in her dealmaking and has developed excellent relationships with all of our key clients around the world. Her contribution to our success is invaluable."
Added Brogi: "I consider this an enormous responsibility as the traditional pay TV business changes so rapidly. I have been working in the worldwide pay TV group for the past several years and am seeing upfront how the traditional linear business is shifting to (meet the demands of) on-demand digital, the Internet and mobile phones. These are challenges that we need to embrace as we work toward putting together a business model that makes sense. But we also can't lose sight of the robust and successful linear pay TV business that exists."
Brogi, who joined the company in 1999, most recently was vp worldwide pay TV distribution at the division. Before joining Fox, Brogi was a program director at Universal Studios in the company's information technology group/program management office.
