Ukrainian network STB will produce local version of the format, in which the magician duo try to guess the secrets behind magic tricks.
CANNES – Comedy magician duo Penn & Teller are taking their new show Penn & Teller: Fool Us to the Ukraine.
DCD Rights signed a format deal with Ukraine broadcaster STB at MIPCOM which will see the network produce an in-house local language version of the show, which currently airs on ITV1 in Britain.
In the show, Penn and Teller try to guess how local magicians pull off their tricks. Competitors who fool them win a trip to perform on stage in Las Vegas.
DCD has sold the Brit version of the show to multiple territories including ABC in Australia, and BBC Worldwide Channels for Scandinavia, Africa and Latin America. ITV commissioned the show for the U.K. but Penn and Teller own worldwide rights to Fool Us.
