People Magazine Awards: The Winners
Jennifer Aniston and Michael Keaton took home honors
The first annual People Magazine Awards are a wrap.
Kevin Hart took home the first award of the night, Comedy Star of the Year, while Lisa Kudrow was honored with Television Performance of the Year for HBO's The Comeback. Jon Hamm, honored in the TV actor category, thanked Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner for being "the only person" who wanted him cast in the show.
On the film front, Cake's Jennifer Aniston took home the actress honor, while Birdman's Michael Keaton took home the actor award. "I'm going to buy Jeff [Bridges] a shot of tequila, and I'm going to go home and kiss my dogs," a loose Keaton said accepting his award from Bridges.
The star-studded event included performances from Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5. The two-hour special, hosted by Nick Cannon, was broadcast live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The event is produced by Dick Clark Productions (a corporate sibling of The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard), and it’s sponsored by L'Oreal Paris and Kohl's. Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan and Barry Adelman from Dick Clark Productions are executive producers, along with Carol Donovan and Michael Dempsey.
