First Look: Molly Shannon, Jesse Plemons Seem Like a Happy Family in 'Other People' (Exclusive)

Molly Shannon, Jesse Plemons, Bradley Whitford and Maude Apatow are a seemingly happy family in The Hollywood Reporter's exclusive first look at the clan of Other People, which makes its world premiere on Thursday at the Sundance Film Festival.
The comedy, from husband-and-wife producers Adam Scott and Naomi Scott (The Overnight), follows Plemons as a struggling comedy writer who returns to Sacramento to care for his dying mother (Shannon in a breakout performance).
He tries to convince everyone (including himself) he’s "doing OK" despite being fresh off a breakup and feeling out of place when living with his conservative family in his childhood home.
The cast also includes June Squibb, Madisen Beaty, John Early, Retta and Zach Woods. Chris Kelly, a supervising writer at Saturday Night Live and consulting producer on Broad City who also wrote the film, makes his feature directorial debut with the title.
The Park Pictures and Gettin’ Rad Productions title also includes Sam Bisbee as a producer, and Lance Acord, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Cathleen Ihasz, Nicole Ihasz, David Ryan, Hunter Ryan, Richard J. Bosner and Stephanie Apt as executive producers. WME is handling sales.
