People's Choice Awards: Betty White Gets Emotional Standing Ovation
The humble actress made a self-deprecating crack while accepting her award for TV Icon
Betty White is still as beloved as ever.
The Hot in Cleveland star received a standing ovation from the crowd at Wednesday's People's Choice Awards ceremony as she accepted her award for TV Icon.
In thanking her fans, the legendary actress referenced Melissa McCarthy's earlier acceptance speech for Comedic Movie Actress.
"When Melissa McCarthy came up on stage and said she'd stay with us as long as you let her — well, you've abused the privilege with me," White quipped.
She added that she was shocked to still be winning awards after so many decades in showbiz. "The people's choice at [age] 93?" the Golden Girls alum said. "Thank you with all my heart."
