"I wanted, even at this young age, to educate him about the difference between public and private life."

Perez Hilton has given his 2-year-old son a pseudonym.

The celebrity blogger, who last year adopted the #NoKidsPolicy that Ashton Kutcher and Kristen Bell advocated, told The New Yorker that it's a strategy to protect his son, Mario Lavandeira III.

"At first, it was Perez Junior, but now I call him J.R., because ‘Perez Junior’ sounded stupid as time went on," Hilton said. “But his real name is not J.R. I wanted, even at this young age, to educate him about the difference between public and private life. So he’s publicly known as J.R. That’s the hashtag."

Hilton noted a year ago that his site would follow the #NoKidsPolicy by only publishing images show on the red carpet or shared via parents' social media accounts.

"I am humbled and honored to be the father to a 1-year-old son," Hilton wrote at the time. "The #NoKidsPolicy intersects my personal and professional worlds in a very complex way."
