Ron Perlman is set to star in FX's upcoming series "Sons of Anarchy."

Elsewhere, Beau Bridges and Meagen Fay have joined ABC's untitled Kristin Newman comedy pilot, while Eric Lively, Tony Todd and Gil Bellows have been cast in the "24" prequel.

Additionally, Jay Harrington has landed the lead in ABC's untitled Victor Fresco comedy pilot, joined by Malcolm Barrett and Jonathan Slavin, while Sam Neill, Sean Bean and Joss Ackland have been added to NBC's action series "Crusoe."

Kurt Sutter's "Anarchy" revolves around a notorious outlaw motorcycle club's efforts to protect their town of Charming, Calif., from drug dealers and local corporate developers.

Perlman will play the club's president and stepfather of the central character, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam). The role, played by Scott Glenn in the pilot, has been recast after the character was re-imagined as part of the project's shift in a more darkly comedic direction.

Perlman, who next reprises his title role in "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," is managed by Kritzer Levine Wilkins.

The untitled Kristin Newman project centers on a thirtysomething woman (Alyssa Milano) who tries to break free of her overbearing and dysfunctional family, friends and boss.

Bridges will play her divorced father, and Fay will play his new fiancee. Fay, recurring on "How I Met Your Mother," is repped by SMS and Main Title.

The two-hour "24" prequel to the upcoming seventh season will feature Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) battling an international crisis in Africa while the U.S. ushers in a new president on Inauguration Day.

Lively will play the president's son. Bellows ("Ally McBeal") will play a State Department officer ordered to serve Bauer with a subpoena. Todd, who also will appear during Season 7, will play cruel African dictator Gen. Juma.

Lively ("The L Word") is managed by Untitled.

The Victor Fresco project is an office comedy that centers on Ted (Harrington), the moral head of research and development at a major company.

Barrett, repped by Gersh and Management 360, and Slavin will play a team of researchers. Harrington is repped by ICM and A Management.

"Crusoe" chronicles the adventures of resourceful castaway Crusoe (Philip Winchester) and his companion Friday on a desert island while looking in flashbacks at Crusoe's life.

In flashbacks, Bean will play his widower father, and Neill will play a family friend. (partialdiff)
