Twitter Inc. has named Pepsi CFO Hugh Johnston and Lastminute.com co-founder Martha Lane Fox to its board of directors.
The social media giant also disclosed in an SEC regulatory filing on Friday that current board members Peter Currie, a former Netscape CFO, and Peter Chernin, chairman of Chernin Entertainment and the Chernin Group, will step down as directors at their own requests when their terms expire in May.
Twitter executive chairman Omid Kordestani announced the boardroom changes in a series of tweets, and in one said "the entire Board is working to bring greater diversity to our ranks. Watch this space."
Johnston joined Pepsi in 2010 and also serves as vice chairman of the food and beverage company.
Lane Fox is the co-founder and managing director of travel and leisure website lastminute.com.
