Pharrell Williams to Receive CFDA Fashion Icon Award
Looks like he's got a lot to be happy about.
After Rihanna's win in 2014, this year's CFDA Fashion Icon Award winner has some big shoes to fill. But if anyone is deserving of the coveted title, it's Pharrell Williams. The "Happy" singer, whose award was announced Wednesday morning, has had more than his fair share of memorable fashion moments, from setting a guyliner trend, to wearing bellhop-worthy attire on the red-carpet, to nearly breaking the Internet with that hat, it seems there's no style risk too daring for Williams.
CFDA President Diane von Furstenburg said of Williams in a statement, "If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style, but for his kindness and openness. I cannot imagine anyone not seduced by him."

If last year's CFDA Fashion Awards were any indication, this year's awards, which will be held on June 1 at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, will definitely be a fashionable affair (think: Rihanna's sheer Adam Selman dress). And with power stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn (who were ranked No. 17 on THR's 25 Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood list) at his side, we have no doubt that Williams' look will be one for the books.
In addition to his showstopping red-carpet looks, the 41-year-old has dabbled in fashion collaborations with Adidas, Moncler and Uniqlo, to name a few, and even starred alongside Cara Delevingne in Chanel's short fashion film shot by Karl Lagerfeld.
And when he's not busy taking the fashion world by storm, Williams can be found making platinum records (G I R L, 2013), starring as a coach on The Voice, or collaborating with the likes of Daft Punk and Robin Thicke. For the multihyphenate Williams, it's all in a day's work.
