He was honored with the President’s Award from the Society of Camera Operators in 2012.

Phil Radin, who worked at Panavision for nearly four decades, died Monday at his home in Woodland Hills, his family announced. He was 62.

A Los Angeles native, Radin most recently served as executive vp worldwide marketing at the motion picture equipment company.

In February 2012, he was named the recipient of the prestigious President’s Award from the Society of Camera Operators.

"He's a big-picture person; he would see how Panavision would fit into the industry," then-Panavision executive Suzanne Lezotte said when Radin was honored by the SOC. "Phil was always the wisdom. At the end of the day, he was at Panavision for so long, he always knew what the right move was."

Radin had suffered a severe heart attack in January 2012, and his President’s Award was accepted by his children Jeremy and Kayla, who survive him.

A funeral will take place at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
