Philip Berk re-elected as HFPA president

Set to serve eighth term atop group that oversees Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., which oversees the annual Golden Globe Awards, re-elected Philip Berk as president for 2010-11 on Wednesday during the group's annual election meeting.

A 33-year member of the HFPA, Berk, a correspondent for FilmInk in Australia and Galaxie in Malaysia, will serve his eighth term as president.

Hans Spurkel, Meher Tatna and Jack Tewksbury were re-elected vp, executive secretary and treasurer, respectively.

The new board of directors is comprised of Ali Sar (chairman), Jorge Camara, Yoram Kahana, Theo Kingma, Lorenzo Soria and Ruben Nepales (alternate).

The HFPA's annual Installation Luncheon, honoring officers and directors and announcing its charitable donations, will be held in the summer at a date to be announced.
