Philip Sokoloski Promoted to Top Communications Post at FilmLA
He takes on an expanded version of the job formerly held by Todd Lingren and will oversee campaigns aimed at the movie and TV industry, as well as government officials and the community.
Philip Sokoloski has been appointed vp, integrated communications for FilmLA, filling the top PR post that was formerly held by Todd Lindgren, who left the non-profit organization which provides permits for entertainment productions shot on location in Los Angeles County.
“Philip will be an integral part of the trio involved in our communications and public affairs activities,” said FilmL.A. president Paul Audley, “with me and the upcoming appointment of an executive vice president.”
Sokoloski will be responsible for the planning, execution and measurement of integrated communication campaigns serving the industry, community and government stakeholders, according to the announcement Wednesday.
Sokoloski has been with FilmL.A. for 10 years, most recently as manager and then director of communications. His accomplishments at FilmL.A. include serving as a co-creator of Film Works (www.filmworksla.com), a public education and marketing campaign. He was also instrumental in the 2007 launch of FilmL.A. eNEWS and the rebrand of the organization to FilmL.A., Inc. in 2005.
Sokoloski holds a Masters in Strategic Public Relations from the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism. He also serves on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
